So many of you lovelies have asked me to find some great sale items that would work for a holiday party. With hundreds of dollars being spent on Christmas gifts, weddings, and the like, every dollar saved is a win. Today I am featuring a handful of fabulous sale dresses, but please note they are moving off the shelves (or the interwebs of course) pretty fast. It looks like many of us out there are looking to save a few dollars this month.
When it comes to holiday parties, please keep your audience in mind. I have attended a couple of holiday festivities already, and I am fascinated by what I have seen. If you work in a more professional environment, please avoid wearing clothing that is too tight, too short, too revealing, and just too outrageous. Whether we like it or not, the way we dress in work settings (on or off-site) impacts the way we are perceived at work, which centers on respect. I actually overheard various managers at a company (not my own) that shall remain nameless coming to false conclusions on an employee due to her flamboyant attire. What was she wearing? She was wearing a red bandage Herve Leger dress and black pumps. If you have the body for such a dress, I am all for the look during the holiday season. Just don’t try to pull this off at a work-related party. Motherly lecture is now officially over.
If you are not in the mood to spend a dime and are looking to recycle, try pairing a little black dress you have in your closet with bright-colored pumps for a little flair or festive vibe. Don’t have an LBD in your closet?!? Get one! They are perfect for any social event and can be dressed up or down with the proper accessories. Trust me when I say you will get your money’s worth out of a good LBD. If you have a black pencil skirt, try pairing it with sparkle top and a great bold wedge or platform pump, and you are good to go.
If you are attending a party for a purely social event, you pretty much have free reign. I am all for wearing red or green dresses to add a little holiday cheer. Just avoid wearing them together. There is such thing as too much holiday cheer!
Some of you have asked me whether you can send me your looks. ABSOLUTELY! Please feel free to reach out, and I would be more than happy to take a look.
Here are some sale items I found today that I love. If you are ordering online, keep in mind that many stores have expedited shipping for free. If not, try requesting an upgrade by chatting with a store representative online. I have done this and have been pretty successful. You never know;).
Happy shopping, and Merry Christmas!
