Every summer, I anxiously await the coming of October. Wonder why? In Texas, the weather finally jumps down to the 60s and 70s, and it becomes socially acceptable to wear boots. Whether I’m going out to dinner with friends or I’m channeling my inner bum, I always love sporting a great pair of boots, leggings, and an oversize top.
I absolutely LOVE a great pair of boots because they can add a great pop to any outfit, and when selected properly, they can be super flattering. The key is finding the right boot for your body time. If you are under 5’5, over the knee boots will make you appear shorter. I highly recommend sticking with mid-calf or ankle booties. This season, designers have focused more on booties, so you are in luck!
If you do happen to be on the prowl, I have found some fabulous looks at all price points. Something to note when buying tall boots, some designers tend to cut their boots rather small in the calf. Prada and Stuart Weitzman are known for their slim fit boots. Department stores like Nordstrom offer free stretching for certain styles, so if you are unsure, I highly recommend shopping in store to find out what designers best suit your shape.
My two favorite tall styles are the riding boot and the wedge. Both styles can be dressed up or down and are work appropriate, so if you are looking to buy one pair this season, I highly recommend either one of these styles.
Everytime I wear these boots, I am always showered with compliements. They are super comfortable too.
A good pair of navy boots is hard to find. How cute are these wedges!!?!
These are super comfortable, but please note that they run small in the calf area.
Looking for boots that feel like you are only wearing socks? These are the boots for you.
These boots are pricey but AMAZING! FYI Saint Laurent shoes tend to run small.
This boot comes in 8 awesome colors, and I am loving the price!
