Anyone catch the lovely gowns at the SAG Awards last night? So many people focus on the Golden Globes and Academy Awards, but I love SAG Awards fashion because actresses tend to escape their comfort zone. Yesterday was no different.
Today I highlight the top trends of the night, and a recap would not be complete without my worst dressed choices.
TOP TRENDS
1. Jewel Tones
I absolutely love jewel tones, as they look good on virtually any skin tone. Colors like emerald green, mustard, ruby red, and fuschia will make anyone stand out. Here are some of my favorite jewel tone looks of the night.
2. Black and White
When it comes to being red carpet ready, sporting black and/or white is always a classic look.
How fabulous does Joan Collins look!?!?
3. Suited Up
Emma has made a name for herself on the red carpet by going for more unique, unconventional pieces. While I prefer to see full length dresses for formal events, I must say her tuxedo style Dior dress suited her perfectly. I am not quite sure if Naomi Watson would agree, as she tripped on the dress. Oops.
WORST DRESSED
While I love a little risk taking, I’m not a fan of the following looks: pilgrim chic, saggy bottom boobs, showgirl friendly, cow hide chic, and chopped salad. Sorry ladies. But NO!
I can’t close out my recap without showing the stunning Lupita Nyong’o. Her Nyong’o Elie Saab dress is popping up on both the best and worst dressed lists. I don’t think a single person on this planet could wear this creation other than her. She definitely wears the dress.
Reese Witherspoon in the black and white section is glorious, but when is she not??
