1000 Followers!! THANK YOU!:)

1000 Followers! Thank you!!!!!!!!

Just twenty-two days ago, I was ecstatic to find myself hitting the 500 follower milestone.  Today I celebrate the 1000+ follower mark, and I could not be any happier.  Thank you so much for your support and for spreading the word about my little blog!

With this amazing milestone, I have decided to share some inspirational quotes that embrace the power of 1,000.

“A picture is worth a thousand words.”

We have all either heard this expression or have used it.   It is nearly one hundred years old, and it has lasted the tests of time for a reason.  I can look at a picture, and what comes to my mind could be so different from what comes to your mind.  Your personal beliefs, circumstances, mood, and overall outlook on life may influence your take on a simple snapshot.  Pictures can also bring to memory joy, sadness, excitement, and a bevy of other emotions.  One of my goals this year is to take more pictures.  Why?  For me, I want to capture the beautiful moments in life so that I can celebrate the positive events  instead of succumbing to temptation and seeing the glass half empty.  I am often guilty of focusing on the negative, and taking a snapshot into fun, joyful memories has slowly begun to make a difference in my outlook.

“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”

This saying comes from the ancient Chinese philosopher Laozi.  These 11 words have such a powerful meaning.  For many of us (myself included), the biggest thing holding us back from our dreams is ourselves.  We are just too intimidated or too scared to take that first step.  I would love to one day launch a line of jewelry based on my sketches.  While this journey may appear to be one thousand miles away, I need to follow the words of Laozi and take my first step.

Good things do happen to those who take risks.  For those of you who were afraid to start your blog, look at where you are now.  Aren’t you glad you took that single step?

“Power based on love is a thousand times more effective and permanent than one derived from fear of punishment.”

This quote comes from the beloved Gandhi.  With political global turmoil amongst us, these words say it all.  Instilling fear or hate never wins in the long-term.  Spreading love and hope can inspire others to make a difference.

“We are a nation of communities… a brilliant diversity spread like stars, like a thousand points of light in a broad and peaceful sky.”

George H. W. Bush beautifully captured the diversity this world has on display.  I love and am grateful for the ability to connect with so many wonderful and diverse stars in the blogosphere. As someone “different” growing up in a homogeneous bubble, it has been so nice to meet people from all walks of life.  While it reminds us of how we are each special and different, it also brings us closer together.

I look forward to growing and expanding my blog, and you all have provided so much encouragement. I cannot begin to properly express my gratitude.

If there is a topic, idea, etc. that you would like me to explore on the blog, let me know!  I will be sure to tackle it….you have my word!
