Work Wear for the Workaholic

Happy Monday, friends!  I’m starting off the week with a fabulous follower request.  Recently, I re-blogged a guest post I wrote for Mixed Print Magazine regarding how to add flair to your work attire.  In response to that post, I received a request for looks that can be bought online and on sale.

For those of you who rarely leave the office, online shopping is your best friend.  Online sales have skyrocketed in recent years, as it allows the shopper to avoid the terrible crowds and check-out lines.  You can have practically anything you like delivered straight to your home or office, which is great.  I definitely smiled this morning at the sight of empty Rue La La and Nordstrom boxes in the break room at work.

Whether you’re stuck in the office, or you just don’t feel like battling the masses for a parking spot, there are some downsides to online shopping. If you are addicted to shopping like I am, online shopping just feeds your addiction!  Also, be prepared to deal with returns should the sizes not fit just right.  I always tell my friends to go in-store and get a feel for the brands you like. When you know your size in a brand, you are more likely to get it right the first time.

Another potential factor to consider is online shipping rates. Today, my selections can all be purchased online at Nordstrom.  Nordstrom offers free shipping and returns, and you are not limited to a 30-day window like other department stores.

However, with stores like Nordstrom biting the bullet and offering free shipping (which can normally range from $10-$15), other stores have followed suit.  Saks and Neiman Marcus, for example, now offer free shipping.  Others offer free shipping for purchases over a certain dollar amount.  Even if a website does not offer free shipping, you can try contacting them and requesting a free shipping coupon code.  This has worked on several occasions for me in the past.

Ready for some work looks? As promised, each piece featured today is currently on sale and can be purchased using the links below at Nordstrom.

Looking for more tips!  Feel free to use the contact form or send me an email at admirablylegal@gmail.com.

Also, some of you have sent me pictures of looks you’d like to find for less.  Feel free to tag me in pictures on Instagram (@admirablylegal), and I will send you some ideas.

Happy Shopping!!

This is awesome! I love that you hear what your readers are asking for and you deliver, these work looks are amazing! I’m particularly in love with “The Bold and Beautiful”. I love statement pieces, and all of these really are a statement on their own! However, put together they create such a good harmony and give a very classy, distinctive look. The Kate Spade pleated dress is very pretty as well.

Thanks so so much Hector! Meeting and hearing from other bloggers has been my favorite part of blogging.

I sadly bought almost everything from all three looks, but I tend to be partial for pieces that make some noise.

I think both men and women tend to shy away from making a statement at work, and I think it’s time for a change. 😉

I just LOVE these looks (and your blog in general). I may take you up on the instagram offer sometime; I will be working a lot in a different country in April and DEFINITELY want to look the part! ❤
