Essential Espadrilles, Summer 2015

As it continues to rain in good old Houston, Texas, I cannot help but dream of sun.  In my dream, I’m walking along the streets of Cannes in my white lace dress and navy wedge espadrilles.  Okay, I’ve officially woken up (albeit slightly depressed), and my mind has turned to espadrilles.

There are so many to choose from this season ranging from lace up flats to sky-high wedges.  Add in a variety of fun prints like the infamous pineapple or vamp up your wardrobe with splashes of stars and stripes.

I’m a major fan of espadrilles because they can be comfortable and casual or dressy and demure.  There are so much to choose from.  As many of you may know, I love buying items that can be worn both in the office and on a Saturday out with the girls.  Several designers have launched 2 or 3 inch wedges that work brilliantly in the office.  I’m a fan of the navy Via Spiga wedges (pictured below). For me the key is finding a good lower heel, closed toe espadrille for the office.

My only caution when shopping for the essential espadrille is try before you buy.  I have tried on quite a few pairs this season, and so many are just flat-out uncomfortable.

Snag a great pair recently?  Feel free to share!!!

I am so ready for espadrilles as Vancouver has been blessed with an abundance of Mr.Sun. I do not own a pair of espadrilles haha yes I know I should be shunned. I absolutely fancy the wedged espadrilles but every pair I have tried on so far has been so ridiculously uncomfortable. My goal this summer is to find a comfortable and fabulous pair; thanks for the inspiration Mira!

Hahahah no shunning for you! It really is hard to find a comfortable pair. I tried one that made me feel like I was walking on concrete. No thank you! Some of the wedges are more likely to have padding. Good luck my dear! I would so love to be in Vancouver right now. I’m sure it is just gorgeous.
