Basking in the Beauty of the Butterfly

Happy Sunday Funday everyone!

As the work week is upon us, I wanted to collect as many positive vibes as possible.  What better way to do this than to admire the beauty of my surroundings.

While my most recent trip to the UK was nearly three months ago, I’m still in the process of organizing the billion + photos I took. Going through pictures of my time at the Natural History Museum “Sensational Butterfly” exhibit in London makes me smile.  For those of you lucky enough to be in the London area between now and September 13, I highly recommend a visit.  You really cannot go wrong at £5.50 a ticket.

Humidity warning alert! When you step into the wonderful world of the butterflies, it is so incredibly hot and humid, so be prepared!!  You are literally surrounded by flying butterflies, which is such a unique and awesome opportunity.  Witnessing all of the stages of a butterfly’s life is pretty special.  In fact, it is such a special exhibit that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge couldn’t resist taking Prince George.

The entire exhibit can be viewed in under half an hour, but like the royals, I decided to sit on the very same bench and take it all in.

One of the perks of havng a ticket to the exhibit is the ability to jump the queue to the Museum.  As queues can be dreadfully long, the ticket price is definitely worth it.

I’ll leave you all with a quote from Nathaniel Hawthorne:

Happiness is a butterfly, which when pursued, is always just beyond your grasp, but which, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you.

What gorgeous photos! I’ve been lucky enough to visit a butterfly house (not in London) as well and it really is such a wonderful experience having butterflies everywhere and even landing on you. Thanks for sharing your experience! 🙂

Such lovely photos I have never expected to be that huge. My last visit to London was just for a meeting that my company was hosting and I get to see only a few attractions but this year I wont miss the opportunity of visiting the museum.

I didn’t know this was on (shame on me as I live in London!) but I’m definitely going to go for a visit. I went to the butterfly room for the Damien Hirst show at the Tate and loved it so this sounds perfect 🙂
