Giving back can be such a rewarding experience, and why not have a little fun in the process?!? Dress for Success Houston’s Women of Wardrobe does a great job of raising both money and awareness but also encouraging and promoting fun and fierce fashionistas.
I recently attended Women of Wardrobe’s annual fiesta festivities where some fantastic Houston vendors and designers showcased their pieces with proceeds going to Dress for Success. One of my favorite local designers is the lovely Chloe Dao. You may know the incredible Dao as the winner of Bravo’s Project Runway (Season 2). One of the reasons I love Chloe is that she has not forgotten her roots and is constantly involved in local philanthropic efforts like Dress for Success. As many of you may know by now, I tend to err on the side of funky, so I had to snag this dress.

If you are looking for fun party ideas, I highly recommend having a dessert bar. The ladies of WOW were treated to an amazing s’mores bar, and it was quite the hit! Sometimes I wonder why I can’t come up with fun ideas for a small business like this. Regardless, it is super easy to recreate at home, and you just can’t go wrong with a little sweetness.
A big thanks to Culture Map for featuring this amazing event.
Hope you all stay safe and fabulous this weekend!
Thanks for highlighting this organization😊

Dress for Success looks like a great initiative for promoting causes and creativity. I know what you mean about wanting to create yr own business when you see how others have done so with seemingly ‘simple’ ideas…but who knows, the idea may come!

It absolutely is. They are all about empowering women with the tools they need to succeed, and people often forget how feeling good about what you are wearing can impact performance.
One of these days I’m hoping that the magical million dollar idea will come. Here’s to hoping!;)
