I like big bags, and I cannot lie. Wherever I go, you can be sure to catch me with a handbag large enough to carry groceries for a family of four. Why?!? Truthfully, I don’t have a legitimate rationale beyond the fact that I have always been a bag lover. Granted, I do carry a day planner, two iPhones, an iPad, hand sanitizer, lip gloss, Advil, and my keys at all times…and that does tend to take up some major space.
Here are some of my massive handbags you may have seen in previous posts.
Wearing a bigger bag often encourages you to carry more unnecessary items, but I take complete responsibility for my future bag and shoulder problems.
However, over the past three weeks, I tried doing the unthinkable…I attempted to get some rest. Shocker, I know. During these three weeks, I decided to cast my oversized bags away for some teeny tiny creations. Micro bags have been everywhere the past few months, and I imagine they may be here to stay for a while. At the conclusion of these three weeks, I decided that I will remain a big bag lover. While it was nice to carry a lighter load, honestly, what can you fit in this bag?!?!
The answer? NOTHING…a phone, keys (maybe a single one), that’s about it. Instead, I am all in favor of using them as charms for my bigger bags. 🙂 At least I tried…
Although I err on the side of the oversized handbag, I certainly can appreciate some of the adorable minis out this season. Here are some of my personal minis.

I LOVE them, so cute and so originals, but I need a big one to carry all the things I supposedly need during the day

I’m with you. They are cute and fun but not very practical.

I always have to resist the urge to buy mini handbags, but they just can’t fit all of my items in which is frustrating!

I know, it’s so frustrating! I wore one the other night, and I was left to putting in some loose cash, my ID, and forcing my phone to fit. Not so fun…

Love your posts. Any recommendations on where to go to sit on a camel?

Thank you so much! Camel ridding is a pretty unique experience. I had the privilege of doing this in Dubai. I have seen several zoos offer this as well.

It is super cute. There are so many fun styles, colors, and prints to choose from which I love. I have also seen them worn in some pretty unique ways as well.

agreed–unpractical EXCEPT for evenings out and traveling. I take a large bag with a mini cross body. Works great for day trips when you don’t want bulk.

The cross body is definitely a great choice. There’s lots of great designs to choose from these days

I love wearing mini bags but only when traveling or going out. On the other hand with my everyday big bags, I tend to carry half of my belongings.
Cheers,
T.

Yes, mini bags really are great for travel or nights out. It definitely makes life easier. During the day, I tend to go for the oversize bags. I’m just trying to carry less items.

I too like to side with the big bags. I never went out without a big bag. I liked to carry a water bottle, lip gloss, eyeliner, wallet and a snack. But ever since I had my baby, I completely gave up on bags. The baby just keeps my hands full! 😦 I stick the necessities, like lip gloss, keys and phone in my pockets. Never thought there would be such a day for me.

I’m big on carry my water bottle and other basics, and they just take up so much space. With a little one to look after, I can imagine the accessories go out the door when it comes to priorities. My friends have all turned their strollers into purses. 😉

Big bag = equals big world view but a mini bag = thumbnail view – just not enough interest the little compartments to store adventures. Big Bags Rule

Totally sticking with my big ass bags. Other than a formal function I see no point in small ones (other than being cute.). I carry way too much stuff but I am always prepared!
