Black and White at Night

While the summer season has not officially started, I am feeling the heat here in Texas.  Whether it’s a formal affair or a casual night out with my friends, I tend to put the temperature first.  Many women won’t admit it, but yes I sweat, and no, it is not pretty.

I attended an event that called for a dressier tone, so I decided to go for a light black and white color block dress by Tahari.  The great thing about going for this classic color combination is that it is timeless and easy to dress up or down.

My dress is actually one I typically pair with a black blazer and wedges for work, but throw in some crazy Louboutins, remove the blazer, and voila!  I tend to stock up on bolder shoes and accessories, but when it comes to clothing, I try to find pieces that can work at all times of day.

A couple of weeks ago, I highlighted the importance of a statement shoe as a great way to jazz up your attire.  While I wasn’t really feeling it that day, as Christian Louboutin once said, “A woman carries her clothes. But the shoe carries the woman.” All I needed was a little 4″ pump to get me going. 🙂

For a night time affair, I have really warmed up to the idea of the micro mini.  There’s something not cute about lugging your life around at night.  Am I right?!?

Having a little black and white dress is a great way to kick up the LBD look, and there are loads of styles to choose from.  This Zara dress is super cute and surprisingly not too short for my tall friends out there.

So many of my friends have asked me what to wear for summer weddings, and when in doubt, I always recommend having a great black and white.  Whether you go for a budget or more upscale look, I can assure you that you will get your money’s worth!

Happy Tuesday, Friends!!
