With the passing of Labor Day comes an end to SUMMER. While many of us shed a tear, I for one am eager to fall into FALL. Before we make that leap into the cooler months, I can’t help but look back at my summer highlights.
As many of you know, despite having a shopping addition, I prefer to shop online versus in stores. I never thought this day would come, but alas it did. YES, I just said alas. 🙂 Farfetch is one of my favorite sites because it loops all of my favorite designers into one place, and they have featured so many items that I haven’t been able to track down here in Texas. That being said, I was thrilled when they asked me to participate in their summer project posting my three favorite songs of the summer as well as a summer collage.
My top songs actually shock me. I know how odd that sounds. Here are my personal songs of the summer. Allow me to explain why…
1. Let Me Love You by DJ Snake and Justin Bieber
This summer, I resigned from my previous job without having something lined up. It was tough having that uncertainty, but I resorted to taking care of myself while I looked for a new job. I got into Soul Cycle in a major way, and this song struck a chord. While I never thought I would ever highlight a Justin Bieber song, here we go. The chorus highlights never giving up, and that is exactly what I needed to hear during this difficult summer.
2. Me Too by Meghan Trainor
Meghan Trainor’s songs tend to make me bob my head without even realizing it. I love this song because it is all about loving yourself and being confident. This is something I most definitely need to work on, and singing these words out loud as I got on the exercised bike or drove around town was just what I needed.
3. One Dance by Drake
I just love the vibes in this song. With the Indian infusion, you couldn’t help but get up and dance around with your friends. That, my friends, is always a good thing.
There you have it ladies and gents…my top three songs! I would love to know what songs struck a chord with you this summer!
As I look back on some of my looks over the past few months, I can see my subconscious was at work.
From bold black and white combos to a pop of evil eye, my anxiety about the unknown clearly factored into my styling. It is amazing how the mind works! That being said, I think the overkill with the evil eye worked because I just started a new job a few weeks ago! So as Justin would say, “never give up!”
Like many of you, I have had some trials and tribulations, but I am ready for what is to come. Let’s do this together!!
