Friday, we meet again! I can’t think of a better way to spend my afternoon than to recap some of the fall trends featured on the runway in celebration of Houston’s It Girls of Instagram.
Now, I must admit, I am super biased here because my dear friend Rongrong Devoe was featured last night, and what a talent she is! Rongrong is an incredible fashion sketch artist, has fans in the likes of Victoria Beckham and Adriana Lima, and has been featured everywhere from Vogue to Instyle Magazine. I could go on and on about how talented she is, but most importantly, she is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. Click here to check out her website. You can order sketches on her site and even request personalized sketches! Follow her on Instagram @rongrong_devoe_illustration.
The It Girls were asked to put together their top look for fall, and I must say Rongrong’s look was my favorite. I love the fur and burgundy leather leggings!
Neiman Marcus highlighted several major trends on the runway, but I have a few favorites that I have to share.
While metallics are traditionally more prominent in the colder months, I honestly wear them all year long. From a pop of color in a great pair of ankle booties to a bold jacket, you can’t go wrong!
Florals have been pretty popular over the past few years, and fall 2016 is no exception. Whether you work it in your look in a great clutch, or you go full floral in a floor length dress, florals can really give off a fresh look.
If you don’t live in Texas, you may be able to work the fur in for fall each year. Here it is hot as hell, so this is more of our winter look. I especially love the navy monochrome look. This year, designers are throwing all of the trends together. SENSORY OVERLOAD!
Slits can be worked in subtly or in a bolder way. You can really dress this up or down and make it as conservative or daring as you like. The black floral tunic paired with burgundy pants is a great way to keep it modest while going for a head turn. Working in slits in the shoulder area can be a most flattering look for women. This year, even pants were slit to the max!
I strongly believe this is a look that should never go out of style. From bows to Jackie-O inspired coats, I love the soft, delicate look.
Almost all of the looks were paired with open sandals or pumps, which I found interesting. While I am a lover of big handbags, it was the embellished and metallic micro minis from the likes of Fendi and Stella McCartney that covered the runway.
There are so many options to choose from this season, and I can’t wait for fall to come!
