Gearing up for Super Bowl LI in Houston

Back in 2004, the Super Bowl splashed the headlines of every major newspaper.  Was it the winner that captivated everyone?  No, not really.  It was Houston’s own “Boob Gate” thanks to a little scandal brought about courtesy of Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson.  That was actually Houston’s second time to host.  On February 5, 2017, Houston will host Super Bowl LI for the third time, and well we all know third time’s a charm.

I was a little high school nerd the last time we hosted.  College, law school, and work life have come my way since, so a lot has changed.  This time around, I was eager to get involved in this year’s event, so I decided to apply to be a Super Bowl volunteer!

I have been asked to do a post about interview attire (in the works, I promise), but today I’m showcasing my volunteer interview look which is slightly more fun.

Jacket: RedValentino
Dress: H&M
Shoes: Salvatore Ferragamo
Bag: Fendi

Most of us dread going to interviews, but the Super Bowl interview is quite the experience. Simply waiting to start my interview, I was greeted by a fantastic team and even made some new friends! We were first taken to a room that got everyone excited about the biggest event of the year.

From playing astronaut for the day (yes, astronaut me wears Fendi 🙂 ) to reading about Houston’s rich history, we were allowed to play.  Too bad interviews were not always this way!

After my interview where I shared some of my special moments as a Houstonian, I was allowed to send a message to my fellow Super Bowl attendees.

It was such a fun experience, and I am so happy to join the nearly ten thousand volunteers dedicated to making the experience special for everyone!  Can’t wait to share more of my experience with you all!
