Whether you’re headed back to school or back to work following a summer holiday, you’re likely beginning to feel the effects of a change in the seasons.
When it comes to work attire, I swear by a good coat. Despite living in the Texas heat, I’m often shivering in my office, and having a good coat can help transition from season to season.
Lafayette 148, Zara, Mary Katranzou, Vince, and St. John are some of my favorite go-to brands for topper coats. My latest find is a cobalt blue topper by Mary Katranzou. I absolutely love her feminine and eclectic designs. With the change in seasons comes a series of sales, and I snagged this coat on sale for $325 from $2000 at YOOX.com. Despite the white trim, pairing with solid dark tones can take this coat into the fall and autumn and can be work again in the spring and summer with dresses and skirts.
I paired my topper with a basic black undertone and brought out the colors of the flowers with a bold pair of Salvatore Ferragamo court shoes. Ferragamo is a timeless brand, and I periodically find heels on sale at 6pm.com. I purchased this pair at over 60% off!
As I have a more eclectic color pallet, I added even more color with my rock stud Valentino bag that I purchased from Nordstrom at 50% off! I love bold accessories, but the coat can be toned down with a solid color palette from head to to.
Here’s to hoping for a drop in the temperature!
